Engaging directly with the work of an Italian author, students will have the opportunity to strengthen their fluency of the language, expand their knowledge of Italian vocabulary and grammar, and deepen their understanding of cultural nuances. 

New this Session: Students participating in the Book Club will be invited to attend a private in-person or online event with the author of the book at the conclusion of the course.

In this engaging course, advanced students will read and discuss "Tanta ancora vita" by Viola Ardone, Giulio Einaudi, (2025)

Kostya, a ten‑year‑old traveling alone to reach his grandmother Irina in Naples, arrives with only a photo of the mother he never knew and an address, while his father fights in Ukraine. After strangers help him slip past the border, Vita—the woman his grandmother works for—finds him asleep on her doormat, and the unexpected child pulls her back into a role fate had taken from her.
