Gloria was born and raised in Imola, in the heart of Emilia-Romagna. She holds a Degree in Modern Literature and a Master's degree in Italian Language and Culture for Foreigners from the Università di Bologna, the oldest university in the Western world!
She has been teaching Italian as a second language in Imola and Bologna since 2017, after obtaining a DITALS certification from the Università per Stranieri di Siena, working with learners of all ages and backgrounds, including adult immigrants and American university students through a partnership with the University of California Education Abroad Program.
She has also spent the last decade teaching English as a Second Language, designing interactive and engaging lessons for children, leading programs for young learners through education programs (PON) sponsored by the European Union and organising study-abroad projects in partnership with the SWAN Training Institute of Dublin, Ireland.
Gloria is also a trained theater artist, having completed a professional actor training program in Bologna, and has long incorporated theater-based methods into her language teaching. Since relocating to Chicago at the end of 2025, she has been delighted to share her love of the Italian language and culture with the students of ItalCultura.
